To My Brother Who Can't Hear Me

♫ Dr Dre - The Message ♪

Peux-tu seulement comprendre nos paroles, peux-tu seulement ressentir notre amour ?

To my brother who can't read me.
I wonder - can you see what I see,
Can you hear me talking to you, can you feel me loving you ?
You were brought to this universe and still in another world.
Oh dear little brother, we will never recover from it.
You changed the course of everything.
Life teared us apart, you've been so far from us all along.
You caused our tears and prayers.
Prayers. I've given up on miracles a long time ago. Would I have believed in some God, I'd hate him right now. No supreme intelligence but Nature would have brought so much pain. Life is cruel. We were taught about it.
I asked for someone to release you. I wished I could hear your voice someday, hear you laugh, hear you say my name.
And it didn't happen.

What was I supposed to do little brother ?
What were we supposed to do...

I used to cry every night for years thinking about you sweet angel.
Say my name little brother.
This prison you grew in made me sick, my throat's knotted and my heart full of sadness.

And I hate them for what they've done to you, please please forgive me I haven't been able to say no and be courageous. You probably made it through the worst kind of pain.
But can you even feel anything little brother ?
Can you feel anger, sadness, fear, love, joy, peace ?
I wonder. And I will never know.
This is terrifying, my brother.

I will never know.

To my brother who can't hear me,
I wonder - how does it feel to be in your world.
You know little brother, there is something really annoying when I listen to them,
Talking about all these genius hiden under wild spirits.
You cannot even take care for yourself son.
You cannot even express a word.
How frustrating it is to never be answered.
How miraculous it feels when your lips curve into smile,
How miraculous it felt when tears ran down your cheek for the first time since -

This prison of pain and bitterness had its bars broken many times
Many times I was incapable of anything.
I'm weak, I'm scared, and I feel too much.
Only for that I should rejoice,
But the loss is too heavy brother.

Behind the smoke, behind the drunkenness
Stands your cowardise, proud and fierce.

There's a point when you need to help yourself,
Cause if you can't trust your creator, hatred and pity won't help you either brother.
You're stronger than me, but you have to lay down your arms and be ready for love.
Cause it's the only thing life is worth for.

And I love you brothers, in spite of anger, despair and fear,
I love you.

To my brothers.

Woman

Woman I love you,
But you're bringing me down.

Woman you're perfect,
Please don't change a thing.

Woman I love you,
But you're freaking me out.

(original lyrics from LCD Soundsystem)
©Honeyuck.

Woman I hate the way you hate yourself.
I hate the way you're staring at me,
I hate you laughing when you feel insecure,
I hate you calling me a whore for what you think's a sin.

Woman I hate what religion made of you.
I hate the way I make myself submissive and weak.
I hate what you think about your body,
I hate the shame you feel about your sexuality.

Woman I hate you starving for the sake of being thin.
I hate your jealousy and envy,
I hate your spite and your hypocrisy.

Woman you got to respect yourself.
You got to do what you want,
Not what they taught you to be.

©Katy Shayne.
Woman I love you for your curves and your curls.
I love you for every little detail of your skin.
I love to see your bones and purple and blue veins.
I love you tanned, pale, freckled, wrinkled, thin, thick, naked, unseen.

Woman I love the way you got a hold on him.
I love this irresistible power you can play with.
I love you wearing pants, short hair and brogues on your feet.
I love you in a dress, long hair, high heels.

Woman I love you to be free.
Woman you got to feel equal to him.

And I'm sorry I'm watching you walking down the street.
I'm sorry to adore your body like a work of art.
I'm sorry to be so sexualized by my looks and my moves.

And yet, as long as I'm not calling for you Sir,
Pacing down the sidewalk at night,
My outfit is no invitation.

©Asher Moss.
Woman I'm tired of your condition.

Luckily for me thin is fashion,
And in a selfish and bitter way I'm proud and relieved,
Not to be like those girls who have grown believing in one only picture,
With a terrible sense of beauty standards.
Body before brain. "I want to change".

And why should I hide my breast when a man can show it without shame ?
And why should I feel dirty to think about sex when it's standardized for men ?
And why should I be a slut for loving without social bounds ?

Society still has a lot to learn about love and respect of our women,
Of our bodies with their multiple complexions and proportions.

And I want my girl friends to feel happy to be who they are,
And I want my girl friends to look at their reflection in a mirror with pride.

The road to equality is long but we can make it better starting with accepting there's not a unique good type of woman, and above all, loving and respecting ourselves and our bodies.

Peace From A Gilded Cage

Three months ago I wrote an article to share my pain about the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.
It is not my duty as a blogger to talk about it. But this blog is also about how I feel, and this is how I feel today, in regard to the horrific news I scarcely heard about those last days. Yeah, scarcely.
I feel like we're living in a gilded cage, well protected from all the horrors of this world, or at least this is what we think... I don't know what my government have said, done about Kenya. Their horrified words won't change a thing, and I have no idea of what there is to do against a brand new army of manipulated men who are taught to kill their brothers in the name of God.

But what happened in Kenya on last Thursday, it's a symbol of their ultimate goal.
They slaughtered students, young people having a chance to learn and get an education. They represented future, they represented hope.
And those gunmen killed the hope, they took the life out of hundreds of youngsters who had a chance to get a better living in a country, in a whole continent where people are starving, killed in civil wars, suffering from incurable diseases, crushed under the weight of tyranical and corrupted governments...
Education is the only way to access freedom !

We are living in the Twentieth Century and people are killed for the color of their skin and people are killed for their religion. Black people are killed by policemen for being blacks, people are killed by so-called muslims for not being muslims...
I can't believe this is still happening !

And as if it wasn't enough, a fucking suicidal man decided to kill another hundreds of people with him in the fucking plane he was directing !
Oh wow where are we going ?!

Right now I feel lucky, I feel so lucky to live here in this gilded cage where I can go to the university for free without being scared of bombs and guns, I feel lucky to go outside without fearing someone to shoot me for being a non-believer, a girl or whatever... But we've been threaten, and it seems that we simply are powerless against this evil.

For all the victims of war, hate and oppression.

For all the families who have lost their children.

Peace is the only thing we ask for.

No Church In The Wild

14/01/15

Human beings in a mob,
What's a mob to a king ?
What's a king to a god ?
What's a god to a non-believer ?
Who don't believe in anything ?

Guns against words on a paper.
It's getting fucking insane, corruption and madness,
Don't let the power in their hands,
There's no God in these lands.

You heard the voice, it told you to shoot.
Come on, kill dem ! Kill dem all, dat's what they want !
They keep on screaming your name,
All covered with blood and shame !
Look at them, look at their eyes.
Can you see the goodness ? Can you see the light ?
No you can't - only blood, bombs, corpses and guns smoking.

I did it for you ! I did it all for you !
Are you proud of me ? Are you proud of what I've done ?
Heaven is waiting for me !
Now I'm happy my Lord, I'm happy I did it for you.

But it's never enough, those bastards have to pay for our pain,
Send more bombs ! Get more guns !
For the sake of our God we'll destroy them all.

We're gonna make Him so proud of us.

Bloody Charlie
